Computer Technology in the Classroom

High School Students

FYI:
  1. Every student in the class must post.
  2. Posts must be (5) five or more complete sentences.
  3. You must give a (reflective, thoughtful, opinionated, enlightening) response to one other students post in the forum.

Do you feel we, as teachers should use computer technology more in education? Please support your answer with several purposeful reasons.

  1. I think teachers should use computer technology to an extent, but not all the time. If you are taking a higher math class it would be very hard to learn using computers. I think textbooks are needed for some classes. If you are taking a technology class you obviously have to use some type of computer for the class.

    1. Good post Tyler, thanks for your input. Why do you feel technology should not be used all the time? Just curious on your thoughts. Be sure to back up what you say so as to depend your position.

  2. As Ty said I think that in some classrooms we should be using technology more than what we do and in other classes I feel like we should be using it less. Sometimes using computers for school work can be very helpful. Like if you had a history project and you needed a resource to find some information you may not know off the top of your head. Then you could type your project up instead of writing two copies of it. It makes it convenient if you have a lot of work to do and not a lot of time to do it. Also it may increase your typing skills you may need in the big world or maybe even for a class in school you may where you may have to type.

  3. I don't think teachers need to use technology as much as some do. Technology is a good way to research subjects and do projects, but I don't think teachers should use technology to teach their students. Teachers should be using textbooks not a computer or ipad. I think some teachers over use their technology, others barely use it. At the end of the day, it is up to them on how much technology to use.
