Activity & Youth

High School Students

FYI:
  1. Every student in the class must post.
  2. Posts must be (5) five or more complete sentences.
  3. You must give a (reflective, thoughtful, opinionated, enlightening) response to one other students post in the forum.

Today's youth do not seem to be as active as they used to be with the invention and heavy use of iPods, iPads, Smartphones, video game systems and other portable electronics. How can we as athletes and young people improve our muscular endurance/stamina to become more physically fit? Explain your response with detail.

  1. Electronics can help if you use then correctly. When I go to the gym I use my phone for music which helps me preform better. Also you can download apps to help you count calories and also help with different exercises you can do in your spare time. By using your phone you can look up different diets or cleanses you can do to help you in the eating aspect.

    2. I agree. It depends on the person holding the phone. Their work ethic and devotion.

    3. Good post. Mobile electronics are a great thing. I see some excellent use for those. The problem is we abuse them and neglect whats important at the moment. I'm not speaking for all the time, but we need to educate, respect and think twice about what we do.

  2. Good nutrition, staying hydrated, and working out are ways to improve muscular endurance and stamina. Putting your device down and doing something active is another good way. The more motivated you are the easier time you will have.

  3. Electronics can help in a way. Some electronics have health apps to help track your physical activity. You can set up a reminder on your phone to help you get outside. Electronics also be used as a GPS to help you be active. Put a timer on your phone so you know when you put it down. It's not the electronic doing the problem, it's the person behind it.

  5. Well, the problem with iphones isn't exactly the phone itself. It's the person behind the device. I believe that first, people should learn to have a stronger will against using their phones. Then, once they are able to put it down, maybe they can learn to use it correctly. Using it selectively. For example, before you go to bed, take some time to research correct nutrition and a beneficial workout. Find time and maybe even write out a schedule on your phone for the next day. These are ways that the social media that people always complain makes us lazier, can actually better our health. I'm definitely guilty of over-using my phone, but I have found very many health tips and steps that I now try and include in my life daily. Trust me, so can you! <3
