Sports are awesome and beneficial in many ways, or are they? That is a debate amongst many parents, former athletes and ordinary people. Some individuals see the value in school and team sports and others do not. What are your opinions on sports? Good or bad opinions, views and thoughts are welcomed. Remember we are bringing about conversation, thought and new perspectives. What do they teach us? How do they help us develop? Is what we learn in an organized sport, valued? Can we take and utilize the information and experiences we learned through team sports and apply it to life?

What can we do as peers, friends, family members, acquaintances and members of society to change somebody's day for the better? It does not have to be something big, expensive and elaborate, but if you would like, go for it! Share those ideas. I was thinking more on the lines of something small, something simple, but yet could and does have a big impact on somebody's day or week. What is it we can do to be?

This is very similar to the "Autocorrect Humanity" video, but this one deals with missing opportunities in life, because we are so lost in in our mobile devices. Watch this video and respond, remember the criteria asked of you. I know cell phones are an amazing thing that can do just about anything with. We can learn, grow, become familiar and comfortable with computers, but we are missing some key things to life. We are loosing some key values to being a social human being. Bullying... Its something we see in school, sometimes in the job force and outside around our neighborhoods. In my opinion, its pointless, disrespect, shows a lack of character, immature and can be very devastating to the victim. It can leave a scar or wound that could take a very long time to heal. Please share with your fellow classmates your views on bullying. This includes your thoughts, opinions, advice, words of wisdom, how to help, what to do if you see it, how to respectfully defend a victim, etc... Please this is serious. If you have time on your own, watch the video, "Cyberbully." It used to be on YouTube, its an impactful movie. I would also like for you to critique the video called, "To This Day Project". I linked it for you here through YouTube.

Decision-Making is an everyday, lifelong process and skill that you learn and should become proficient in... Porficient in decision-making? Yes, proficient in healthy decision-making! How does this happen? Through education, through your parents or guardians, through those you look up to, through life's experiences. The Decision-making process is a skill learned and developed over a lifetime. All-in-all there is roughly a six step process you should go through before making a decision on anything. What are these steps?
  1. Identify the Situation
  2. List the Options
  3. Weight the Outcomes
  4. Evaluate the Values associated with the Outcomes
  5. Act on the Decision
  6. Evaluate your Decision for next time
* Google the Decision-Making Model / Skill / Process for more in depth information.
Please write me a reflective response with the above criteria on how this skills is a very important cognitive process in your life, your friends life and those around you. How does a lack of DM affect others? How does it affect society? Could a lack of a thoughtful decision-making process lead to unintentional injury or death? Do our actions have recourse or consequence? Do our actions have rewards? You get the point!

How could you defend YouTube to stay unblocked if the principal where to question on visiting the site?

High School Students...

Motivation is a big part of life, not just for you in school, but with everything. It's a trait that can help define who you are and what you accomplish. I would like to know your thoughts on what motivates you to learn in an educational setting? What gives you the drive to do a good job in a school, on a test, on a project. You may apply this to things outside of school too. There is a direct correlation between achievement and motivation whether it be in or outside of school. What can we do as educators to help motivate you?

FYI:

  1. I am asking each of you to think carefully about the above question.
  2. Please answer with sincerity and thoughtfulness. I as your educator, am working hard to make learning fun, stimulating and enjoyable for you.
