Your Legacy

High School Students

FYI:
  1. Every student in the class must post.
  2. Posts must be (5) five or more complete sentences.
  3. You must give a (reflective, thoughtful, opinionated, enlightening) response to one other students post in the forum.

What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Why or Why not? Be sincere with this. You have the opportunity to share something deep and special.

  1. I want to leave behind the fact that you can do anything. People say you cant do anything because we go to bucktail and it is such a small school and you cant get out of this town. I want to play baseball for a college team and you need good grades. I want to help people so they can believe in themselves and not stop going for their dreams and not trying to accomplish things. there are so many chances for anything in life you can do anything with the right mindset. how you think of things or how motivated you are makes all the difference not where you came from or where you go to school. that is the legacy i want to leave.

    1. I agree with you John. I mean there was one kid who graduated from here that went to Harvard. Aaron Kelley went to a great school. You can do anything if you put you mind to it. Don't give up John, you will probably go far.

    1. I agree with you John, Bucktail is a small school but that does not mean we amount to nothing

  3. We can do anything, we can achieve whatever we want, we just have to try we have to put our minds to it! Like John Francis said, just because we go to Bucktail & it is such a small school that means nothing! The students & teachers here are great. You can do anything if you try.

  4. One message I would like to leave behind after I am graduated and out of the school is to never give up or never back down. Set goals and achieve them. Don't let little remarks, doubtful opinions or ignorance knock you down or slow you down. Be who you are and work to be the better person you have the potential to be. With hard work, dedication, devotion and motivation you can rope the moon and touch all the stars.

  5. One thing I would want to leave behind would be that you should reach for the stars and follow your dreams yet do not forget to enjoy life around you. People SHOULD follow their dreams, but then again they should be enjoying the time right now instead of getting caught up in the thoughts of the future. I plan to teach my kids that and everyone that I can. Always respect the people around you, because one day... you might end up regretting it if you never get to apologize or explain why to that person again. So follow your dreams, just don't get too caught up in the visions of the future and forget to live in the present.

    1. I agree Abby. Always reach for the stars. Always set goals for yourself because you can always become better at everything. Just as you said, you shouldn't get caught up in the future. Think about right now. Think about how you can better yourself now. Always do your best & give everything 100%!

    2. I love love this. I agree so much because if you can't be happy with what's in front of you right now, I feel there's a great chance you never will be.

  6. A legacy that I would like to leave behind is never giving up. I feel like throughout high school that should be your motto. I know that at some points school is hard, but just never give up & you'll get through those rough times. Try your best on everything & pay attention. I want people to remember me for my hard work & dedication. You don't want teachers looking back a few years after you graduate & think "wow, she was lazy".

  7. The legacy i want to leave behind is the girl who was always happy. In the society you are judged so much. Especially in a small school like ours. Rumors get around so fast and half of them aren't even true. So with a school so small its hard to find people you can trust. Trusting the wrong people can lead to making you unhappy. its very hard to be positive too. i want to be happy and show that being in a small school isn't always a bad thing and there are positive things about a small school.

  8. I want to leave behind that everyone is different in every way. If someone judges you, just ignore it because everyone is different in their own way. Nobody can help they way they were made.

  9. Reminiscing back on the first time I entered the doors to one of the best school I believe one could attend, I cant help but radiate nothing but nostalgia and happiness. When I was just a mere 7th grader, I was generally just an uncomfortable and awkward person. I didn't think I fit in anywhere and I didn't really have an idea on what I wanted to do with my life. So I guess the answer to the question above is that the impact I want to leave is something positive. One that can tell you that you can overcome anything, speaking of my experience where I have come out of my shell. I feel like the encouragement to make a name for yourself is should always be present. Don't feel the need to excel in something cliche to feel "popular." I'm fluent in many areas not accepted as "cool" but look at me, I can talk to anyone about anything. Don't come into this school thinking that you can't do great things, because honestly you can. The impact that I want to leave is this, Don't succumb to thinking you cant do anything because you cant do something. Don't fall into the categories of "Popular cheerleader" or "Cool Jock" because honestly, I wasn't either and I made it just as good...maybe even better

  10. when i graduate the legacy i want to leave behind is you can have fun but also get what you have to do done.. all though my high school career i didn't take is seriously but also i passed all of my classes because i still paid attention. to fail a class in high school you actually have to try and fail it. enjoy the moments you can because you will never get them back believe me when i say you can get these days back.
